I ordered this book expecting to discover a "secret" formula that no one has discussed before via free online content. I figured this would be a good book to avoid paying high consultation fees for 1-on-1s, (which I've also done before in the past) that would provide insight into something I've been "missing".This book was highly disappointing....WHAT THIS BOOK IS BASICALLY ABOUT: ➡ Youtube's history (from birth to present day) to how Youtube's algorthim works for the viewer and the creator ➡ The reiteration of making good content (not how-to but just you need to) ➡ The importance of studying your own Youtube analytics (IE: Youtube studio and Tubebuddy) ➡ Technical Algorthim jargon that just gives you the proper names and terms. ➡ A lot of Mr. Beast and Squatty Potty references throughout the entire book (some repeated). ➡ A lot of BASIC stories of other channels the author has worked with (some repeated) ➡ The author's personal journey from SEO wizard to present-day Youtube marketerWHO IS THIS BOOK FOR?Beginners. Those who don't understand how to analyze their own content's performance via analytics to make improvements. And for those who want to learn all the technical side and history of Youtube (which isn't going to help your channel grow but a good-to-know type thing).FINAL THOUGHTS:This book is not providing anything different from the other Youtube gurus who cover this information on their channels. You've heard this information before from Roberto Blake, Sunny Lenarduzzi, Vanessa Lau, Nick Nimmin, Sean Cannell, and of course Derrel Eve's own Youtube channel. I think this is a good read for those who like to have things in writing but it's not revolutionary.This book will not give you new content ideas or help you make your actual content better (the algorithm won't matter if you can' figure that out). You'll still need to brainstorm via the suggested workshops that are really based on studying other people's channels, Youtube trends, and how to be highly discoverable (IE: making content people are searching for). Again, you are told you need good content (not how) and to reference Mr. Beast's channel. There's A LOT of references to Mr. Beast's channels for content examples.This book further proves that Derrel Eve knows how to sell a product with lots of hype around it. But it doesn't provide anything new to a seasoned Youtuber and/or reader that has watched free videos on this topic (or taken paid "Youtube" courses) before. A good one-time read and I'd recommend it for Youtube newbies. I hope this review helps :)
